So, after just looking through some reviews of games coming out for the wii, I was surpried to see so few available to play with four players, i am hoping for lots of drunken multiplayer gaming, what games do you think will be best for that idealy i want a mario kart game,
    is wii sports multiplayer?

Wii Tennis is 4 player and id say one or two of the wii-play games will be. Mariokart will certainly be 4 player and id say one or two of the other release titles will be 4 player as well.

Developer limitations? Focus on single-player experience?
    Who knows.

Anyway, it won't matter once Smash Bros Brawl comes out... :D

I've played 4 player Wii tennis... you'll need a lot of space in your living room for that one... and no priceless vases left balanced on top of tall tables either.

Doesn't that whole 'small flicks do the same as massive swings' mantra apply to Wii Tennis too?

I think Red Steel is 4 player...
Well, if that Nintendo ad was anything to go by (four people on one couch playing it).

yep - you can do 4 player spilt screen on Red Steel - good for those with BIG tvs.

Also I believe Rayman can do 4 players.

Jebus, who can afford 4 complete controllers on launch day anyway?

Not many people. My plan is to buy Wii-Play (which comes with a wiimote) and a nunchuk. Most people would rely on other Wii-users to bring their own controllers when 4 player games ensue.

4 players can play tennis with one wiimote.

No clue where i read kotaku maybe but you add pass the parcel to your wii gaming evening :D

Red Steel is four-player, but I don't like it. I don't like any console FPSes though.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance is pretty good four-player fun!
Rayman Raving Rabids is four-player and very good! but we've only taken turns at single-player so far because you have unlock the minigames there before you can play them in multiplayer.

And of course Wii sports (all except boxing are four-player). And small flicks definitely don't work. In bowling you put spin on the ball by twisting it as your release, just like real bowling. In tennis, I can only control lobs/topspin/etc. with a proper swing. Little flicks seem to lob it every time.

I'm looking forward to wii play :)
