Have NTL cable in the sitting room. Have just got a TV for the bedroom
    ( Samsung 19" LCD ).
I want to be able to receive all the channels in the bedroom.
Would the AV Senders available at Argos be suitable.
They have one for €60, would I pick up the channels?
    Thanks for your help.

Don't know anything about the Argos one, but Lidl have one for €40 coming up.

Apparently includes all the leads and cables required and handles IR signals too.

I know which one I will be getting.

AFAIK the remote feature on ANY video sender does not work with NTL Digital box as they use IRDA. Most other remotes use low speed schemes on a 33kHz to 44KHz carrier, some use Pulse width or pulse position modulation. IRDA is high speed and won't work with any remote extender.

    The Audio/Video will work.

ALL video senders include power supplies, needed cables and IR return channel. The Video/Audio is compatible between different makes models too.

    Watty,

I don't have NTL Digital package, just through the cable.
Would I pick up the stations upstairs?

yes. Unless you have steel floors.
On Digital or analog package. It's only remote control that has a problem.

If y have a wireless network, forget geting this (and any other video senders). They both use the same wireles frequency and interfere with each other. I brought the one in Agros and with my wireless network on I got line and noise interference that mad the picture unwatchable:eek: . Turn off the wireless router, and picture on is good.

Actually bought myself a video sender in Argos yesterday, costing around £28/€45, haven't set it up yet though. I have a 802.11g network myself so testing should be interesting, however I don't live in an area where the 2.4GHz band is crammed, so keeping the sender at one part of the band and keeping the wi-fi network at the other (it's currently on channel 11) I guess should be OK.

Video sender is A B C D. But the bands are not quite the same. Rotation of aerial helps.

My WiFi on 6 and Video sender on D
