I've seen a black Toyota Crown outside of Granard, Co. Longford a few times recently. I don't think it was for sale though. Unfortantly, whoever owns it decided to 'pimp' it with shítty looking alloys and tinted windows.

That's the only Crown I've seen in the past 8-9 years or so.

I reckon you'd have a hard job. Most Jap cars of that era rusted apart in the early 80's.

If you don;t mind LHD, there's a couple out here in the Netherlands. A 79, an 81, a 75, and a couple of very early Crowns... Shipping would be the crucial factor, as that could work out just as expensive or even more expensive than the whole car itself...

On the subject of older Toyotas, check out these on ebay. Wonder if the MR2 mk1 is genuine. Nice Celica - There was one near my house when I was a kid - always fancied it & the driver - she was a gorgeous blonde(the driver, that is) about 10 years my senior. Dream on.

Try the UK 'Classics Weekly' newspaper....I have often seen old/classic Toyotas for sale in it.

BTW, The pic you posted above is a New Zealand registered car...just in case anybody thinks it is an old Letrim 'IT' reg :D

Ive seen that Crown numerous times too. It's a 1975 reg and has had a "for sale" sign in the back window anytime I've seen it. I think it may belong to Kane's (4x4 specialists) of Granard. As you say it has been badly pimped with alloys and lowering but could probably be returned to original condition relatively easily

I don't see any Crowns on ebay but there is a Datsun 280 Cedric (big rival of the Crown) This car needs saving from banger racers
