    I just got a new dell pc with all the usual rubbish installed. I was wondering if anyone has run this tool 'de-crapifier' from yorkspace. Is it any good??

    Yeah works fairly well I ran it on a Dell notebook I bought recently though it doesn't catch some of the newer stuff Dell have been putting on the machines.

    If it fails un-installing a particular item you can simply run the offending programs un-installer via add/remove which is basically what the script is doing.

    It tripped up on the two items below on my notebook;
    McaFee suite - only removed one part of it not all.
    Google Toolbar - wasn't fully installed{?} due to some Dell pop up that appears when you run IE telling you about it, do you agree etc.

    New Corel picture management software wasn't detected & checked the site wasn't on the list.

    Just an update,

    I ran it last nite, it got rid of most things, McAfee had to be manually uninstalled, it picked up coral but didn't remove it.

    The rest of the dell internet signup, support, network helper etc I removed manually.
