We've lost another great prospect for the season. The 2005 Champion Bumper winner suffered a fatal injury at home and has had to be put down.

Very sad news indeed. Poor fella. :( This is one of the dangers of ante-post, but that's a dicussion for another day and another thread. Sorry to go off track.

Missed That was a superb animal and will be missed by alot of people including myself. Over the last few years we have lost some great animals. It's the nature of the sport but it doesn't make it any easier. I don't consider myself a gambler, I consider myself a horse racing fanatic. I love the sport and I do find myself getting close to the horses I follow, which makes things like this a sad event for me.
Memories of Best Mate's death come to mind, and I'm sure thousands of people did shed more than a tear on that day.
Total Enjoyment was my favourite horse of all time, winner of the bumper in Cheltenham in 2004, broke a leg soon after and had to be put down. How far this animal would have went is anybodies guess, but I can safely say it was one of the best horses I have ever seen. I have yet to see an animal go as well up the hill at Cheltenham as Total Enjoyment did in 2004.
Sorry to go off track, I don't mean to take away anything from today's tragic event or from Missed That. I guess we will never know how far Missed That would have went. My guess is that it would have been very far.

    RIP.

    Another sad loss.

Is it just me or has there been a sharp increase in the number of horses suffering fatal injuries in the last couple of years, maybe we just hear about it more than before.

i agree i think the amount of fatalities/serious injuries are increasing over the last 3/4 years

Such a shame we will never see him reach his undoubted potential. :(
