There's gotta be something wrong here...
Daft.ie is most popular website in Ireland
    Unison.ie - 08:54 Thursday November 23rd 2006

Property website Daft.ie is the busiest in the country, according to the latest information available.
An independent audit, carried out by ABC Electronic found that Daft.ie received requests for nearly 39 million pages of information in September.

This is an increase of 40% in the last three months alone.

Eircom recorded the second highest figures, with RTE's website coming in third.

I can possibly understand eircom getting in the top 3 with eircom.net set as the default hompage by eircom broadband users, but the other 2? Surely not? Anyone know where boards.ie came in this?

Why? People have to live somewhere.

Yes but they don't have to log on to daft.ie to live somewhere. And I don't think that some of the country's most frequent broadband users, the teenagers, are furiously logging on to daft.ie.

Finding a place to rent is a tough business, so there would be alot of repeat visitors. Anyway, September, you would have loads of students from the country looking for flats, new immigrants etc.,

Yep, everyone I knew in College used Daft.ie for finding accommodation. It doesn't just cover Dublin anymore either and it's not all rental anymore.

Don't know where boards came but I can imagine it was close to the top.

Daft.ie is not an entertainment site so you cant look at it that way. Its a functional website. Loads of people out there are looking for houses, renting houses and letting houses. Sure arent we told every day about the property market here - blah ... blah... property ... blah ... speculation..blah... popes children...blah.

Also think of the structure of the site. If you were looking for a house you would probably look at alot of houses to find the right one. Therefore Daft's page views are big because the average reader looks at more of pages per session than the average site.
