New rig for Pred........its shopping time ....video card inputs required

    Ok ive just recieved my new Intel® Core™2 Duo Desktop Processor E6700
    free, gratis and for nowt from work:D
    The rest of the system pretty much builds itself,

    current rig......2.8GHz P4, 1GB mem 9800pro etc.

    mobo.....no probs here not gonna be oc'ing so anything with the usual suspects and the right chipset will do, I do want ide,sata and raid support they are the only proviso's

    2GB blah blah memory

    2, SquillonMB sata hard drives (have a couple of big Ide ones already)

    Psu....no probs here either

    Case... have a coolermaster centurian Begging to be filled.

    operating sys etc.no problem there either get them free from microsoft through work:)

    the big question is the video card,I started a thread here last year about Video cards and as a result bought the 9800 pro in my current rig. Its been an excellent card and I Play most recent games on it. Quake 4, Fear, Doom3 and that sort of thing. Now Im not a FPS whore or a resolution Bitch,If I can see it and play it Im happy I dont care that I cant see the flea on the monster's ear half a mile away(or the shadow it casts) with this in mind and the fact that this wont be bought till after the silly season what do you reckon would be the best second hand buy after Christmas to suit my needs??
    BTW dont care about vista until I cant do without it:rolleyes:
    oh and in case u missed it at the top

    sell the E6700 and go for a kentsfield quad-core job, a bit pricey at ~£700 though

    Aidan.....oops. this is where I put the last search for a video card thread so I stuck this one in here again.....Mods feel free to move if appropriate.

    Boomstick, cant sell, its part of the terms. strictly speaking it still belongs to work.
