Started as non-contact aerobics. Big in the States. Not sure of the Dub version.

    heard of google?

"Khai Bo is the exciting new non-contact aerobic martial arts workout.

It combines the punching and kicking techniques of traditional martial arts such as Karate, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Western Boxing in a highly motivated and fun-packed aerobic session.

You will gain all the psychological and physiological benefits that come from martial arts training but without the knocks and bruises. Through constant practice you will improve muscular tone and cardio-fitness at the same time as decreasing body fat percentage"

One of my mates teaches it in the ALSAA centre. Or it might be Tae Bo. Anyway, they're all the same, aerobics with some kicking and punching moves from MA. Supposed to be very good as aerobics go, and meant to attract a higher standard of leotard wearing woman, you heard it here first folks!

So there is no actual sparring or fighting involved, its all just MA thrown into aerobics as such??

yeah thats it, by the way, if your friends are male, then this is the ultimate slagging weapon. They're doing aerobics. I got years out of this when my mate started doing Tae Bo. Heres a sampling:

"So are you sometimes really bold and have a coffee and a bluberry muffin with the girls afterwards?"
"You know, I've really noticed a difference in your bum and thinghs since you've started"
"Wow, you must be a size 10 now"
"Hey, you look slim, I heard you do a Thai boy twice a week"
"I suppose you have to go and wash your leotard, I won't keep you"
And so on and so on, the possibilities are endless... they'll be sorry they told you.

On the other hand if your friends are girls, fair play to them, and get photos...

    LMAO at Roper.

One is male yes, the other is female. And don't you worry, when ye all posted that fact that it was more an aerobocs than a MA the thoughts of slagging him about it rushed into my head.

"Woooo, hey man, have you being working out?"
"Should you really be knocking back pints, what about your weight?"
"Man, your butt is huge, you'll have to train extra hard now" etc etc etc

This is tae bo but tae bo is copyrighted by billy blanks-there is loads of these aerobic classes about-with punching and kicking instead of the normal aerobic moves...

It's not more aerobics than MA, it's 100% aerobics, 0% MA. Ask him what kind of sports bra he uses, because you need to buy your girlfriend a christmas present...
