The berlin wall being sledghammered, The statue of Sadam being pulled down in Baghdad, the twin towers in flames....all images symbolising events.

The 15 man maul in Lens is not why we lost, but a symbol of that defeat, The most graphic image of that day, the image people recall.

Its completely natural to focus on images in this way!

Its quite baffling that this gets a thread.....

The thing i remember about that match was the amount of injury time, i know if the roles were reversed there would have been uproar, was it more of keep the big 8 -- big !

They must have got lessons from the GAA, they are dab hands at blowing the final whistle once the sides have drawn level in key , lucrative matches :D

how true! in soccer too is it just my ABU tendencies or do Man utd seem to get alot of free kicks/injury time/penalties when they are behind??

As for lens, bugger all else was working that day and in their shoes I would have given it a go too.
