    hi all,

in a pub tourney last night...down to 5 players, 4 get paid. I'm UTG with 75k, blinds 5/10k. BB has 120k and calling everything with any A, 2 x picture cards, any pair. I have 10/10. raised to 25k & only BB called. flop KJ3 rainbow. he pushes

should i have just raised all in instead of betting 25k at this stage?

BTW: i folded, so did not see his cards

you have a premium hand so a 1.5BB raise seems pointless esp when you consider the BB's tendencies

stick it all in preflop with only 7.5BBs

From the BB's perspective (even if he wasn't loose) it is costing 15k to see a flop with the pot at 40k so he has pot odds of 2.6 to 1. He has to call really. If the flop comes with any J+ cards and he bets (as it did), you're in trouble.

You only have 7.5 BB with the blinds hitting you next. Push or fold preflop should be your only decision at this stage with those stacks and blinds. With TT the decision should be to push.

The only reason I mightn't push here is if four are paid and there are one or two stacks even shorter than you

    Ship it pf.

Push PF, What are you waiting for AA. :)

Shorthanded this is a monster PF. Once you see a flop then there will most likely be an over card on it and you will have a tough decision. This way you can sit back and let someone else have the tough decision to make
