    Hiya,

My wife has booked (a few months ago) a shopping trip to NYC in end January but has now discovered she's pregnant and will not be going. The shopping would be far too tiring at that stage.

Whats the chance of a refund on the tickets (internet booked) or can we transfer them into someone elses name? We'd prefer a refund.

You will need to check your booking as it may be non-refundable, which is pretty standard now for Aer Lingus. The only portion of it that would be refundable is the taxes, and they charge a €15 admin fee for that.

You could transfer them to someone elses name but you will have to pay a fee for that and also they may charge extra if the cost of the flight has risen.

If you look at your booking e-mail (presuming you booked online) you will see the following under the booking and payment details:
    Restrictions/Endorsements
    CHANGE FEE APPLIES.
    NON REFUNDABLE.

Refund administration fee of EUR 15.00 or equivalent per ticket will apply to this booking for tax refunds.

Please note: you can now change your web booking online for flight, date and arrival city. For all other changes contact the aerlingus.com helpdesk.

Requests to change your itinerary may result in a change fee.

    Congrats on the pregnancy though.

Better off going... She does not have to shop... she can pamper herself and relax and you can go shopping. Unless she is going by herself.. in which case she can just pamper herself and maybe do a little shopping.

I take it you do not have holiday insurance? Maybe you can take it out out :D And a week before she is due to go... cancel and claim off the insurance.. you will get more back that way i would think.

Probably cheaper to change it to a different time. You coule book another flight anytime from now to next October.

Thx for the help, I guess we'll try and change the name or the dates.
