How much spam do you get?

Just looking at my Gmail account, I currently have 1168 emails in my spam folder. Over 30 days this work out at nearly 40 per day! Thankfully very few of them make it into my inbox, and although I rarely even look in the spam folder, I can’t remember any mistakenly being marked as spam. I didn’t used to get that much, but I have a few domains with info@ addresses forwarding to my Gmail so I presume I get it from them.

I have a few different email addresses that I use, some I have solely for the purpose of signing up to things so that spam gets sent to them rather than my main mail. But over the last while, my gmail has been getting a lot of spam. It's on average 5 a day, but last saturday, I came home and checked my mail and had 87 spam mails from that day!

i get about 300 a day in my gmail.
i think google send them so you go "oooooh, my gmail spam filter is great, what woul i do without it"...

0 in my GMail account and about 2 a day in my hotmail account.

i get a load of spam in gmail but more worrilingly in my proper eircom email i am getting a lot of spam advertising mortgages,cheap pills etc and the really strange thing is that these particular messages are only directed to eircom email addresses (ie) in the to section all addresses are someonesname@eircom.net.... i downloaded tracking software and i sent messages to the isp's involved mostly in china etc but no reply, i know it was a longshot with proxy's and email spoofers etc but i said id try anyway...

anyone know why these messages are being directed only at eircom emails??
I did email the eircom abuse team but they didnt care and just pointed me in the direction of the source isp's........

It's because Eircom's filters are worth fvck-all, and the spammers caught wind of it...

I have Gmail. Go figure :rolleyes:

Like Humanji, I have multiple email address, public and private. Oddly, the public one rarely gets spam, even though I sign up with it everywhere, and since last month(after I contacted multiplay.co.uk about my purchase(I'm not pointing fingers though, could be something else)) I started to receive tons of spam on my private one

I get about twenty "CHEAP ROLEX WATCHES!!!" / "BE A HERO IN BED!!!" / "INCREASE YOUR PENIS SIZE BY FOUR INCHES!!!" a day.

And then there's the really weird ones.

"Better sex with more sperm!!!"

Hope to make you envious! I've no spam in gmail account. My eircom account makes up for that lately. Lots of email for 'tora' or something. Thunderbird deals well with it.

One or two to my hotmail which I have had for 8 or 9 years. No complaints.

My .com work address which would be generally unknown and has only ever been used for wor purposes but gets about 10 a day, despite great efforts from our IT dept to block at the servers.
