The expansys is €20 dearer and the Meteor one is lock to that network where as the Lidl one is sim free so I wouldnt say its the best pic of the 3.

Mind you Motorola are meant to be muck if you read the mobile forum.

    Hi

Vodafone doesn't have the model but they give you €120 credit, no top-up needed only registration.

    Regards

Meteor 90 euro can include up to 130 call credit.
    Beats Lidl 100 euro.

How easy is it to unlock the phone so I can just buy a prepaid SIM in some other country eg Belgium or USA?

    I checked:
    http://www.meteor.ie/payg_roaming.html
    and found

Not sure how easy it is to unlock the Meteor phone. I'm sure you can pay some one to unlock it other wise you have to spend a certain about before meteor.

It seems like a good deal, I'm thinking of getting one. When compared with http://www.phonesonline.ie/Product.asp?ProductID=589 its still cheaper.

The only place i can find a Simfree Motorola L6 for less than €100 is on Ebay.ie, with "Buy it Now" 's coming in around €83, ex shipping, so its probably gonna work out around €100 anyway, and with Lidl you don't have the risk factor that Ebay carries. That said, L6's in Ebay auctions are coming in (well) under €80

Sorry if this is a basic question, but why not buy it from meteor at €89, get call credit (up to €130 AFAICS), and pay someone €10 or whatever to unlock it?

02 were also selling it with 90 credit (for 99 I think), and from my experience they don't brand their phones and unlock on request. Don't see the point in the Lidl offer at all. If you don't get free credit you will just have to buy some anyway which will increase your TCO substantially.

Motorola phone are a bit hit and miss. My mother has a v66 that is almost 5 years old, I used a v360 up to recently and I can honestly say it is a fantasic phone. However I have had some in the past that broke my heart (v220, v180)

I don't see the point either. Get a deal with credit and get it unlocked for €10-20. If your used to Nokia's stay clear. If you are used to different phones, and don't mind relearning a new one, you might be ok with it.
