Whats the story with Choras cable having Cartoon network on 24 hours a day. Now tell me what kids are up at 1am watching? Would it make more sense to follow what Ntl does and switch over to something like Paramount comedy? Also why are Choras customers subjected to Eurosport? Ntl have Setanta on their basic package. Wouldnt it make more sense to show Setanta rather than Eurosport, first of all its a better channel and secondly its an Irish Channel so we would be supporting our own.

    Any thoughts??

so what if Cartoon Network is 24 hours a day. its not only children that watch cartoons. NTL don't switch over to anything as Paramount is a full time channel with them. subjected to Eurosport? some people on NTL are screaming out for that channel. NTL have Setanta on their basic package as they did a deal with Setanta. Chorus didn't. go away with that supporting our own bull****. if you want to support your own then why not subscribe to Setanta? of course that probably wont happen

any thoughts? yes. if Chorus is that bad for you then cancel. simple really

No NTL isnt available in my area.
Well some channel takes over from Nickelonian(sp) at night. I have never heard a single person saying anything good about Eurosport. Having Cartoon network on at night just doesnt make any sense to me they could switch over to some grown up channel eg Paramount

NTL have more channels and more quality channels on their basic package for the same price as chorus. Just doesnt seem to fair to be honest.

    Oh for pity's sakes...

Fair? Its called competition! They are rivals in the same market, offering different packages that they think will suit their customers. If they don't suit you then either drop Chorus and subscribe to Sky, or drop Chrous and live with RTÉ, TV3 and TG4.

    That, or get over it.

    Fair...

they're not rivals anymore - they're now the same company
and there's very few areas where you can get both.

As for the cartoon network - I used to wonder the same thing when I had Chorus. Yeah I know that adults can watch cartoons but the stuff they were showing in the middle of the night was aimed at 5 year olds.

you should really tell Chorus this instead of going online to moan about it

yes, it is right that both Chorus and NTL are under the UPC umbrella now. expect to see a similar service from both in the next while. wouldn't expect it to happen straight away

    Fair enough, I stand corrected.

No you cant get both in the same area and i shouldnt have to get sky.
If there both the same company now then surely they should provide the same service not one inferior to the other. For the same price you get better channels, better reception and fewer black outs with Ntl. I have been a customer of both so i know what im talking about.

you clearly don't have a clue how the changeover of both to UPC will work. its not a case of Chorus and ntl being different one day, then they merge and bang identical services immediately. cable tv isn't obliged to give you anything so yes, if you want a superior service to what you have now, you will have to get Sky
