Dole Question

I know I will probably need to go down and check for sure in my local SW office but I thought Id ask here first as Im getting mixed reports about this.

I work 4 hours a day 5 days a week which is 20 hours per week altogether. Many people have told me if you work 20 hours or less you should get half of the dole. Others have said since its five days a week Im not entitled to anything.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Cheers

afaik you are entitled to your full dole as long as you dont exceed 20 hours work per week, i could be wrong though.
why dont you check out the department of social & family affairs website to be sure

The amount of hours actually have nothing to do with it. If you work any more than three days a week you get no dole even if you are only doing an hour or two on each day. If you have dependents you can claim the family income supplement but if not your only hope is work the 20 hours over three days or get a second job.

I am currently on Jobseekers Allowance but got two days employment as a trial for a vacancy within a company. I am to receive a payment from this to my bank account this week. Would it be advisable to let the social know of this employment this week? Would I also have two days deducted from my next payment from the welfare as a result?

Yes you must inform SW first thing tomorrow or risk losing your SW totally.
