I was just wondering has any one here played or even heard of second life. "Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by a total of 1,544,736 people from around the globe." it looks like a great idea ,has any one here tried it? www.secondlife.com/whatis/

The population number is a bit of a joke because if you create an account they add you to the total. I tried it for about a day and then never went back.

I should point that this is not a MMOG as such. However if your into programming/development it I believe it can be fun and you can make real world money at it too.

There's no levels or anything, it's just a shared MMO environment. Alot of companies are getting into it (so they can look young and cool, and also because it allows them to sell services in a new way). They currently say that their userbase increases by 40% monthly or something which is a shocking growth rate.
