how to create a new folder in a gmail account

    hope yer all well
    is it possible to create a new folder in a gmail account?
    it would be amazingly handy for college if i could

    there are no folders per say, but a label works much the same way

    select an email, then "more actions" you will have the option to apply a label there

    Gmail doesn't use folders, AFAIK.

    You are able to set rules to tag emails delivered from addresses, and then filter by the individual tags, or by a combination.

    you can do that, by setting rules to set labels.

    Then you can select a label from the side. in this way its similar to a folder as in you can display the contents, its just that the same email can have multiple labels. Effectively residing in multiple "folders".

    So, the label thing can do all that folders can do and more :)

    Label your mail and then archive it, you can then easily access it "like folders" by clicking on the labels on the right hand side of the screen.

    I just pretend their folders myself :)
