    Hey guys,
I'm not a very serious poker player but I play when I get a chance. For a while now I've wanted to buy a decent set of poker chips. I stumbled across this on Carta Mundi's website while shopping for cards and went digging a little further.

I was wondering what ye're opinions were about it. Would ye immediately laugh at this kinda thing...? Are the chip denominations good... It's 75 x $5, 75 x $25, 25 x $100 and 25 x $500. I know the chips are nice and heavy, 14g IIRC but would it be wrong to assume they're clay rather than plastic. Also, I know it sounds superficial but I like the look of the chips aesthetically.
So any thoughts. And if this is a terrible idea can somebody recommend a nice set to me. My budget is bout €80 ish...
    I'd appreciate any help!

I can't access ebay from work, but if they are anywhere in the $80 range then you are paying way too much for what you are getting there. There are 200 chips in that set, and you can easily get chipsets with 300 or even 500 chips for less money than that costs. Clay chips cost a little more all right, but 11.5g chips are generally more than good enough for any game.

That is not good value at all as it is 65 sterling

if you want a good starting set head down to Harvey Norman they have a decentish 500 chip set for 45 euro

It's €75 euro from play.com which would be my method of purchasing if I was to... Although I suspect one could find it for cheaper than that. Thanks for the advice so far... keep it comin!:)
