AK hand UTG - Live FO

    Hi Guys

Interested in opinions on this hand. Last night at the €120 Freezeout in the Red Cow. 70+ runners

Been playing a decent game all night and down to last 14/15 Runners.

    Blinds 800/1500 - 24k stack. 7 Handed

I look down at AK UTG and make it 6k to go.

Folded to Villain in MP. He's still stacking his chips after taking out 2 players with KK and is now over 100k. He raises, splashing 20k into the pot. He's a good aggressive player who I've come up against many times before.

Its folded back to me so its just the two of us. His range is pretty big but he's not re-raising with KJ thats for sure. I can't help but think he's got a medium pair or possibly the same hand (AK). I rule out AA/KK purely on the basis that he's just had KK the previous hand. I know this is probably flawed but what are the odds of getting KK again or AA immediately after KK ?

I'm looking at a 28k pot. I have 18k left. I'm sure I'm racing here. The odds are right and if I win I'm in a very healthy position.

Would you push or fold here ?

    push.

cant win a tourny unless you win a couple of races.

    How many get paid?
    What are other stacks like?
Previous hand has nothing to do with current hand statistically.
Chances of AA\KK are always the same considering num of opponents.
I would push based on info.

scorch that felt - you are never folding AK here.

I agree with all the above and push here. The red cows prize structure is usually pretty poor so you need to make the top 3 or 4 to make it worthwhile. If you fold and scrape into 7th or 8th it probably takes you 6 or 7 hours to only double or triple your money.

I think you have to ship it here.

Just wondering who the villain was in this hand as that might make some difference with your thinking here.

A good tell is if a player has just won a big hand, is still stacking chips and gets involved in the next hand, then he was a biggie !!!

And as Lloyd said, don't discount AA or KK just because he had them last hand.

And after all that I'd still push, but thats because I'm crap.

    Easy fold (joking!).

    An absolutely standard push.

Yes of course. Just interested in what others would do in this spot. Its a no brainer push but I guess I'm just trying to satisify myself that I made the right decision.

    I pushed and he shows 10 10

I hit my King on the turn but unfortunately he had already hit a 10 on the flop.

If I win it I'm in with a good shout - C'est La Vie.

    Cheers Guys
