There's a few colourful ones around the country alright. Some I like:

    Longford Slashers
    Starlights (Wexford)
    The Rock (Laois)
Curry (Sligo- Think it's a place name but still good)

That's all I can think of but anyone have any more slightly eccentric club names?

There's a Starlights in Dublin too. And a club called "Wild Geese".

Man-o-War is a funny one too, like Curry, not just a football team but the name of an actual place.

I thought they were from Antrim??

Maybe there are 2 clubs by that name.

There is indeed one in Magherafelt but there is also one in Cork. Maybe there's more I don't know.

There are O'Donovan Rossa clubs in both Antrim and Cork, don't see how it's an eccentric name though, every bit as much an Irish hero as Wolfe Tone, Pearse, Cuchulainn, Davitt etc., after whom many clubs are named.

Knew I had made one glaring omission alright! I knew it was in Carlow alright.

One starlights is odd but two? It's not an obvious name I would have thought...

I know but I just love the name. It's kinda like "hell man what do I want a first name for I'll just have two surnames"

His first name was Jeremiah, as in Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa, same as Jimmy Barry Murphy, apologies for being off topic.
