songs missing from ipod menus but available in ipod_control

all my songs and videos are missing from my ipods menus but available in ipod_control file. is there any way to get them back the way they were?

any help would be great.

What software did you use to rip?
What software did you use to transfer them to the iPOD?
Check their ID3 tags. They could be there somewhere you don't expect.

ive just been using itunes, my little bro was messing about with it and now the i cant listen to or see any of the songs on the ipod. when i hook it up to my computer=>E:ipod=>ipod_controls i can see and play the songs so i know they're still there. 'm looking for some way of restoring them back the way they should be on my ipod.

Have you tried reseting the ipod? Hold the middle (white) button and the menu button at the same time.

Does your ipod show up in itunes?

its the same when i resetted it. i can see the ipod on itunes but all the songs look like they're missing even though i know they are there. also if i connect with ephod it tells me my ipod is locked and to quit itunes etc...
