No live heads up?

Was playing 2-5 in the Sporting Emporium recently and at the tail end of the night the table was three handed when someone decided to call it a night. Myself and the other dude were happy enough to play on heads up but the dealer and floor manager said that we couldn't. It didn't really make any difference given that while we were still in the "Really? Why?" stage the person who'd left decided to come back and play some more hands and the table kept going then until the place shut at 6. If he hadn't I guess we could have moved to one of the many 1-2 tables still going.

I made it pretty clear at the time that I wasn't complaining but I was pretty curious to know why they wouldn't let us play HU when 3 handed was fine. Floor manager didn't really have an answer for me.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind this? Also would it the same thing happen in the Fitz or the other casinos?

I'm guessing it's because two seats don't generate enough rake to bother running a table.

they let me play HU before in the SE, this was early in the night though when we were trying to get a game started. In the Fitz it is not allowed, not sure why.

As a slight aside, do they get the 2-5 NL game going often in the SE? Cos I was playing it on saturday and would def play it again if I knew it was running.

First time playing cash in the SE for me so I dunno. It was never more than seven handed while I was there.

It was 8 or 9 handed for pretty much the whole night on saturday. I think it would be good if this game was regular as I would play more live cash games.

No we've had it before but its hard to get a game going. When it does get going its pretty ridiculous.

It was going again sunday night till about 5 . Good stuff. The only thing stopping this game becoming regular is a bunch of players to keep starting it up. There is a demand out there . John in the SE seems very much to want this to happen on a more regular basis.

My own theory as to why these games do not always get going is that it does not allow the plumbers to regularly limp/call a raise with there fav hand J4 soooted or the like every hand from any position, without getting nailed whereas they can get away with it much more in PL

Gavin Smith and another player played headsup for a while on Saturday I think, don't know the stakes or how long it went on for. The SE provided a dealer for that game.

I've dealt heads up cash in the fitz before. Usually only at the end of the night when we're not under pressure for dealers and also only if the two players agree that the winner of every hand tips a fiver.

i think they were playing 5/10 or 10/20

Gavin asked if there was a reduction in rake for a shorthanded game and Alex obliged
