    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a venue in city centre for a 50th birthday party? They don't have to supply the food as we know caterers but am open to all offers.
Reckon there'll be about 50-60 people

You'd probably alot for a place in the City Centre. Most places won't allow you to bring food onto the premises if they serve food themselves cause of competition well they say because of Food Safety issues.

I had a party in the Kestral in Walkinstown, the room is great its circular with round tables with a dancefloor in the middle not too big though.

Scruffy Murphy's, just of Mount Street lwr, is about the right size. You might be able to get the room free (I've used it a couple of times for table quizzes and the like), and they've never had a problem with people bringing in their own food for parties. If fact, they've even let others use their kitchen on nights when they're not doing barfood.

    Aidan Deegan is the owner.

You could try the Teachers Club in Parnell Square. They allow you to do your own catering and it's a classy place! Restored Georgian building...
