Can't believe there's no mention of Harrignton here today!

Fair play to him. Sometimes he frustrates the sh*te out of me when he messes up but he was excellent y'day and there's not too many who'd comeback when they were 3 behind Woods with 6 to play...

Also, I backed him before the last round and layed Woods to make a small but very satisfying profit! :)

Delighted for Harrington - I know it might be a bit of an exageration but I think this is probably the first time Tiger has lost a battle. The 38 wins from 41 starts as leader on the last day was impressive, but I doubt anyone has beaten him with Tiger 3 up and 6 to play....

It was great to see Harringtons aggresive play actually beat Tiger - he really had no fear out there. (btw - I love the fact I have Sky Sports!)

    Next stop a major!

your right it is an an exageration, remember Clarke beat him in the AMEX world Matchplay thats only one instance, it happens, its rare but it happens.

fair play to harro, it's a pity the wins are coming now as he has to play so far from home with the european tour basically over for weather reasons, hope he gets a chance to keep this form for a major or a home crowd victory, but they are both a long way off.

Was a good win, considering especially Woods record in playoffs

Harringtons positive attitude at the 18th paid dividends for him in the end

plus he seems a really nice guy down to earth, was over in the merrion(?) shoppping centre beside the Japanese embassy a few weeks ago and he asked my uncle if he knew where the embassy was, nice and polite like, "excuse me, would you happen to know where the embassy is please? thank you" kind stuff, couldn't believe it, when you see so many big sports stars eith demanding things or getting their entourage to ask, Harro was out on his own to do the shopping and apply for a visa, thoroughly nice chap and thoroughly well deserved win.

That's a great story especially after he went on to win too! He's known as a grinder and he really showed he's one of the best there is with that performance against Tiger. He was all over the place with his driver but stayed focused and played some fantastic shots from the rough and held his nerve superbly to hole the putts. I'd love to see him take that kind of play to the majors next year!!

no doubt, he was impressive but he has got to keep the kind of consistency and killer instincts which Tiger Woods used to terrorise his opponents.

He was unbelievable, the best performanc I have seen from him. Hope he can push on this season and win a major.

    Hey JR Hartley,

your quote that harringtons prospect of a home victory or a major victory are both a long way off is very much wrong it has to be said. padraig was in serious contention to win this years us open at winged foot.he still had a great chance to win even with just 3 holes to go on sunday. unfortunately he played the last few holes badly but was leading the tournament up to that point. also he was only a few shots away from winning the irish open this year. he was in contention at the us masters in april also and indeed he was just one stroke away from getting into a playoff at the british open and that was 4 or 5 years ago. so it is fair to say he is on the brink of a major victory and there is no doubt whatsoever that he has the game to win one. he is not one of the worlds top ten golfers because he is a nice guy but because he works extremely hard and is a great golfer.
