Got it a few weeks ago. From analog cable I do not get the full range of NTL stations (only 8 stations) , missing BBC2 and Setanta in particular. The quality is pretty good - just the same as your analog cable on standard telly really.

DVD quality recording requires 2GB/60 min of recording. There are two further, less hungry, recording options which seem a better option given that you are not going to get DV quality from analog anyway. I am not sure if this works with Digital Cable, I tried it and it did not work.

It is a nice product but I am not as overwhelmed as I thought I would be.

I have one connected here. The EyeTV auto-tuner doesn't pick up all the cable analogue channels so the frequencies have to be entered manually (Elgato have promised to fix this in the next release of EyeTV). Using the supplied mini-aerial I'm getting perfect reception of the 4 digital test channels whether you can get them or not depends on where you're living.
All in all, well worth the money.

Hey ya, using an older EyeTV USB unit and the new EyeTV 2 software. Having being used to the set up I just manually entered the Stations for NTL in Dublin and receive them all. 17 in total me thinks.

1 hour in recording is approx 700MB at standard quality IIRC, not near the unit right now. The elgato site should have plenty of information and any contact I have had with their support has always been helpful.

    Cheers,
    Peter
