Crossfitters?

I've been messing about with crossfit workouts and other bastardisations for a while, but am considering doing it whole hog after christmas ( I know it's the whole, I'll quit smoking tomorrow argument, but I want to reach certain targets in the brute strength area before I go change my training).

But a question to Dragan or Fianna ( the voices of fitness and crossfit respectively) - when the WOD is posted and it states Squat 5-5-5-5, what in the name of hell does that mean?

    Everything else is dandy.

Also the crossfit posters are all, to a man, crazy rightwing nuts. Never buy a knife from a man who is not crazy.

    Yes.

    Failing at five.

Tom PLatz was first to advocate 10 sets of 10 reps and he'd got crazy legs.

    Hey Shane,

i do crossfit myself mate. And yeah, it rules, but having a solid base in hard core compound workouts and olympic lifts helps a lot, although i found once i strated, everything improved. Strength, speed, stamina, recovery et al.

In the wod's the last rep in a set should be the last one you can do without rest, so in the case of the squats, if you could do a sixth you should have gone heavier.

Any other CF questions feel free to ask me and i'll do my best to answer correctly or use enough bullsh1t that no one will challenge me :D

We're you reffing on saturday? if so, i,m the guy who was next to max.
