Kings Glen runs again in Aintree. This is good news if what I said on the 11th is correct.

3.00 Kings Glen ended his chasing spell early this year in good style and was expected to do well in Aintree when sent over. It was relatively in touch when it unseated Philip. It has done well enough over Hurdles in the past and at one stage had a rating of 100 with the racing post. I've no doubt its a better chaser than hurdler which is why its 16/1 but a place here is not alot to ask of it. Watch this horse when it goes chasing again, I wouldn't be surprised to see it win over at the Aintree festival a few weeks after Cheltenham.

It's out in the Beechers chase at Aintree at 2.35 -- a very stiff task for it but I am going to stick to my guns. Even if it doesn't win this time at Aintree, I'll still be backing it in April. Granted it prefers softer ground, but the ground will be Good in April at Aintree anyway, so there's no excuses. Early price of 20s, I wouldn't be surprised to see it 33s tomorrow.

Anything that is over 5/1 I usually back each way. I'll definitely be backing Kings Glen each way. :)

An old favourite of mine Dunbrody Millar runs in the 2.35 at Aintree

Was in great form last winter, hasn't raced in a good while and hopefully is back to the form he was in last winter/auturm

    Nice price at 20/1

What odds could you get on neither iktitaf or brave inca winning tomorrow?

Be careful, he's 5lb out of the handicap, it's a tough race as it is without having to be burdened with extra weight.

True enough. I still think it is in with a good chance though. Sure, it could definitely be on better terms today but it's a good chaser should still be able to do well. How it performs today will determine how close i will watch it over the next 6 months. Having two hurdle runs before it goes chasing again should have it fresh enough for today's task. NB

My other interests today are Shannon's Pride in the 1.30. A great win last time out has seen it put that bad spell behind it. The RP are spot on when they suggest it can reverse things with Hakim given how they are in terms of weight today.

A good each way bet in the 2.00 is Ostfanni who found 21f just a little too much for it and was doing well until it reached the 19f mark. That day it ran up front which might be why it got burnt out. I'd be interested in seeing the tactics today, as its two wins came from off the pace, and if it is to finish 20f today with a bit left in the tank then it will need to be able to catch its breath early on.

Jack the Hough is back after a break since April today in the 3.35 at Cork. I was a bit disappointed when I looked at the card because I saw Farmer Grant in the same race, and considering how Farmer Grant is in the weights it is definitely in with a good shout as well. It's a shame there's only eight runners because there's not much each way value. I might have a small bet on Jack the Hough, watch this one he'll have another win come January.

Pennyhill Thyne will appreciate 20f today in the 1.45 at Punchestown considering it was going well up to that point two runs ago but faded away. The ground is fairly similar, and the opposition isn't too different. A good each way chance if it can reproduce that form. If it wins I owe Pighead lots of pints.

Asian Maze can cause an upset today. This will be a cracking test for it and it will reveal just how much it has improved since we last saw it winning here in April. If it can give these a run for its money it sure will be a good season for it. NAP

Has anyone had a look at the 1:15 Punchestown?
Conna Castle looks like an interesting bet here. He is entered in this novice chase, yet he has plenty of non ‘official’ jumping experience from the point-to-point scene. It looks like he may go off as favourite, and its interesting to note that backing favourites in non-handicap chases shows a profit at Punchestown. He has had great form, and plenty more to come I’d imagine. Rubly Wash is on board and has a profitable record over the past few seasons at Punchestown. Top of the RP ratings, this horse is proved on the course (over this distance). The soft-heavy ground wont be a problem either. With a small field, I think he has a very good chance here today.
Another one at Punchestown I’m looking forward to is the 2:15. This is a difficult one for me as one of my all time favourites (Brave Inca) takes on one of my up and coming favourites (Iktitaf) Brave Inca is the type of horse that I would follow over a cliff, and he owes me nothing. Sentiment aside though, he has some serious claims at this. Murphy has a profitable record here and Brave Inca was superb last season. He is proven on the course (over this distance) but the ground may let Iktitaf gain an edge. If I can get 1/3 or better by dutching them I will take that option, otherwise a slightly reluctant sentimental nod goes to Brave Inca [Edit] Took the dutch at 1/3

I agree about Dunbrody Millar. I think he is way overpriced, and Im having a place bet at just under 5/1 (4 places up for grabs). Bowen has a profitable record at Aintree, and is in good form overall the past year. He is top RP rated horse, and is treated well in the weights here. Proven on the distance too :)

Gotta start using this betfair thing...had a score each way on it and only came out with a profit of 50 bones.

Just saw this now but I backed it e/w earlier. I was back in Clonmel during the year and it ran a good enough race to come second then (if my memory serves me right) and ran a good one today.

I was very impressed with Asian Maze today. She's a beauty, and although a couple of these needed a run today she should have a good season.

I'm still optimistic with Kings Glen and will follow it until Aintree in April.
