Password Forgotten

    Hello, the password has been forgotten for a laptop on display in work, thus it being on display for customer use is pointless.

    Is there a way to gain access to it?

    Pretty sure it's MCE (sony vaio, the new white styled one)

    Could be XP home though :o

    Format it? (F10 on boot methinks)

    Formatting isnt an option tbh.

    Works like a charm. Burnt the .iso to a dvd as image, and boted fine on the pc at home - Hopefully will be grand on lappy in work too.

    If it's only a display model in a shop..? F10 = Recovery (Rather than "format") = puts OS and software back to scratch. *shrug*

    If it is simply the WindowsNT/XP password use that NT Offline Password Recovery tool. Simple to use and quick.

    forgot administrator password

    A couple of the links near the top will get you software/services to recover the password.
