    Hi all,

Do any of you have any experience of buying anything from Satcure.co.uk?

I was looking to place a pretty big order with them for face-plates and accessories, but decided to buy one of each thing first to be sure that I was happy with them......

    So I added, 1 faceplate blank, 2 CAT5e inserts, 2 F-Type inserts and a couple of F-type connectors.

The total price of the order was ~£10..................

........but the shipping to Ireland was another £40 ?????????......

Now, lets be clear, the whole lot would fit into a small jiffy-bag and cost no more than £5 with royal mail first class. So I decided to check the cost to ship to an address that I have in London.........£23 ????????......

I presumed that this was a mental mistake on their ordering system, so sent them a mail a couple of days ago.....no response!?

Anyone else got any experience with they guys?...

    Cheers,
    Jab

Mate, Use some of the german suppliers listed in stickys. I cant praise them high enough! 3-4 days to ireland. If buying recievers you have to put up with 2 pin plugs.

They normally respond quickly and have reasonable postage. Did you follow their instructions for contact?

Martin Pickering "justified" why he charges way more than the postage costs in Television once. Doesn't matter to me, after the insane price to get a very small piece of kit shipped here I ain't getting stuff off him again. A ONE METRE DISH was cheaper to ship from GERMANY, and that was by UPS....

With shipping prices like those quoted, I just can understand how he is in business.

If your in Dublin might be quicker to pop into www.satworldonline.com in Aideen Place in Kimmage (close to the Superquinn Sundrive Supermarket), very competitive pricing and no waiting or shipping charges!

The showroom had me drooling at a wave frontier they had on display ..was seriously tempted!!

I went there on Friday and got a heavy duty wall mount and 20 metres of cabling for just 35 euro. I mentioned that I was installing a motorized system and they asked if I needed any f-connectors, knowing that some had probably gotten lost during my recent move said yes can I've two, he threw 4 in and didn't charge for any of them - would definitely do business with them again.
As it turned out I needed all four in the end.

Obviously he has put up postage since I last purchased. Well I think it is foolish. P&P should reflect real costs, or even be subsidized.

I find shipping from Hong Kong is cheap and USA VERY expensive. Netherlands & Germany use Euros and stuff comes in post slightly quicker than from UK. Postage costs are reasonable.

How robust did it look? I've heard bad stories of bolts shearing and flimseyness. I'm thinking of buying them.

Can't really say tbh, was too busy drooling at all the lnbs pointing at the bouncing back part of the dish (don't know what its called properly).

Was surprised at just how big the whole thing was, the dish itself isn't massive, but all the paraphernalia in front of it is bulky but very very nice if your into satellite I'm sure, I was literally drooling!!.

Would definitely recommend seeing one up close before buying as no doubt some other (female) members of the household might not be so enamoured with it.

Thumbs up from me, too! BTW, Aideen Place is a back lane, behind a line of houses on Aideen Avenue, if you are searching for them. (P.S., I have no connection with them, except as a customer).

My attention has just been drawn to this:

    http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/postage.htm#minimum

Will give it a try and see what happens. However, I really do think that they would be a little clearer up front about this error in their system!
