    hey,

I am looking for a new laptop at the moment and one I was looking at has XP media edition. Is this any good? I'm going to be using the computer for college and work mostly.

It says one of the features is being able to watch tv and record it and the likes. I have NTL digital in the house. Will it work with this? Or does it access TV trhough the internet? If its through the internet how much does this cost?

    thanks
    bryan

it can access tv from a supported TV capture card. It can act as a PVR\DVR recording scheduled shows etc etc.

Its based on XP Pro, however its not trivial to join a Domain Controlled network. In english that mean that if you college uses a domain network and you need access, Windows 2000 and XP Pro may be your only options.

best have a chat with the tech dept of your respective college.

in any case with NTL digital, you need whats called and IR blaster to change the channels on the NTL box.
