Right so just finished building a new rig there this week ,and now am in the market for an LCD-TV ,now i've been eyeing up a Samsung see below

    http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/television/tftlcd/le40n73bdxxeu.asp

looks like the bees-knees ,most importantly its got 2*HDMI ports!
so was looking at the online manual and low and behold I spot this written in there

"Do not attempt to connect the HDMI/DVI connector to a PC or Laptop Graphics Card.
(This will result in a blank screen being displayed)"

    wHAT the bloody hell !
just bought an ASUS 7950GT 512mb graphics card with the understanding of using the HDMI output for the 32" screen with a dvi - hdmi cable, so where have i gone wrong??
any ideas lads?? really need to find out before i go forking out any more cash!
    cheers!

Well I have the R73 series http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/television/tftlcd/le26r73bdxxeu.asp and the manual for that says the exact same but I have the HTPC hooked up using DVI/HDMI and have no problems.

I have no idea why its in the manual, unless they have changed it so it cant be done since the R7 series but i doubt it.Head over to AVForums http://www.avforums.com and have a sniff around there.

Picture quality is excellent depending on the source of course :)

I remember seeing the reason come up somewhere but it was a while back something to do with potential comparability and EDID's in others words Samsung covering their ass. It's just a generic warning that you can ignore like Legion says it will work.

(FYI my Samsung LE26R41B has the warning as well and the PC DVI-HDMI cable I plugged into it worked just fine)
