well depending on your goals (grappling or MMA) it depends. however at 13yrs of age i'd recommend you try thai, judo, wrestling, boxing, gymnastics....and see what appeals to you

good luck with your training - enjoy it! :D

where do you train now as matter of interest?

Judo would definitely help with your takedowns, but thats all. Otherwise Judo & BJJ are just different side's of the same coin.

I'd recommend you take up Muay Thai. This will make you a better round fighter. And as you say you want to do MMA when your older everyone here will advice M.T. & BJJ.

You don't say where you are. If your on the northside of Dublin probably (in my opinion only) I'd recommend Andy Ryan's Straight Blast Gym, their website is www.sbgnorthside.com

    Enjoy your sport.
