Switching From Copper to Plastic Piping

    Hello,

I live in a part of Dublin with slightly acidic water, but enough to be a problem.. green stains and corrosion etc. I would need to replace all the pipes carrying water throughout the house, with the exception of the central heating. Has anyone undertaken this? The smell of the hot water is very metallic, and that seems to be the biggest problem i.e. finding a non-copper based immersion heater. Oh how I despise the county council for not treating the water supply properly.

    Any thoughts/advice?
