I am a sky customer with a standard setup and still in contract. Does anyone know how much it would cost to upgrade to the following:

    - Sky+
    - Sky multiroom
    - Sky+ and multiroom

I did check sky.com and went to the republic of ireland section. I could not find the exact information I asked previously. If you have an online account then you may find out. There is loads of info on new equip etc but I don't require any of that.

OP it will depend on your package setup.

Sky+ box €149 plus €15 if you DON'T subscribe to any two premium channels.
Sky multiroom box is €69 plus an extra €15 per month per box
Sky+ and multiroom is €149 + €69 for box and either €30 exra per month if you don't subscribe to 2 premium channels, or €15 just for the extra sub.

ok i currently have sky + and a multiroom subxcription with my old orignal sky box and i know thats currently €15 extra a month
but what if i was to say add a 3rd box which was a sky hd box
would that be another €15 or would they charge more?
plus is running 3 boxes off the 1 satellite a good idea?

Sky HD you need a Sky+ sub = +15 Euro on top
SkyHD for HD you need an HD sub = +15 Euro on top

AFAIK if you have a premium x2 chs pack you dont pay extra

Youo can have a Sky+ as mirror. but +15 extra unless you have premium

For Sky+, SkyHD and Sky you need Octo LNB. You could always use the ordinary Sky box for Free Channels and have no sub. You really need to ring Sky.

Dont forget it is EASIER to get all BBC/ITV if no Sub on a box but Sky+ won't record without a sub + a Sky+ sub.

I recently called Sky and they said to upgrade from Sky to Sky + would be €224 for equip and installation (plus monthly fee which would be zero if you have more than two packages)

BUT that if I was to go to Sky + and Sky Multiroom the one-off fee would only be €69 subject to a 12 month multiroom contract (15/month AFAICR).

He was really pushing Multiroom and wouldnt give me anything off Sky + on its own.

Channels dropping out is likely dish misaligned (as it gets worse in rain). Though, a cut in the cable outside can cause this also as water ingresses.

Anyway, if setup is done right, all boxes should work equally well, on all channels.
