Notice what it says on the first page of Village, in the part about circulation.

Had a quick flick through it. Much improved, I have to say, although I can't be arsed reading most of the articles.

The picture on the back isn't quite as offensive, but is still painfully unfunny.

Also the jibes about censorship and lacking a sense of homour on the hot or not scale are illjudged in my opinion. The Record should either have just cut its losses with regards the last issue or stood up and defended itself in the Editorial.

Haven't seen it yet but was impressed to hear that the Village would be in it last weekend. Think it will up the readership of both publications on campus, particularly the Village.

I'm fearful of saying too much after last time, so I'm going to make it succint and general - pile o' cack.

Haven't had a chance to read it properly, but was a bit surprised by...

    [ranting slightly]

*How there's a picture of yer man Howard Marks three times in the paper on 3 seperate pages.

*Peoplefinder was back ages ago (before term started if I recall correctly), but it only makes it into the news now?! What? Given that the SU had something to do with it, it would make sense to say how it played some part in it (although that's a completely seperate point).

*Ah Radical Mike. Moving on to slagging people from Tallaght, saying that they aren't literate? Good man.

*My god what a big picture of a kid on page 12.

*Are some of the articles dated by around a week? Pacino article mentions the deadline for applying (the 14th) and the first SU Council is mentioned with the second SU Council yet to take place (which took place last Tuesday).

And such. Layout seems about the same. Opinion and cartoon smacks of 'how dare anyone bring a motion against the University Record in its present form'. Haha rofflecoptors. Politics piece looks interesting, will have to read that later.

    There's my first impressions anyways.

It smacks of ha ha ha we beat them ha ha ha! 49 to 56 is not a victory it should be a smack in the face and a wake up call. I would be very very surprised if there is not a motion about it at next council.

I know everyone was discussing why people think certain things aren't acceptable just because it is the SU newspaper but one thing that I find hugely unacceptable is the SU newspaper printing a diary piece which slags off members of the SU excercising their rite to bring a motion to council. That is just not on! Grow up Daire!

Picked it up and was bored of it within 2 minutes, even in an already boring lecture.
