More information is required to dianogise this problem. What do you mean stalling ? When is it stalling? after running what program(s)?

But to me it sounds like a heat problem, Start the pc with the side of the case off and see how it gets on. If it dosent crash you know its a heat problem. So solve this get some decent case fans, And a better cpu heatsink.

Just be on the internet or something well i cleaned the case and cpu fan today. When i run it in safe mode it doesnt stall. I dunno i think you could be right but last year i had heat problems wih it, it shut down by itself. Im getting my tax back from working in a week or two so im definately getting a new case psu and heatsink. Thanks ill get back to you if it doesnt stop

Try installing Speedfan and monitoring temps...report back here with temps and we'll see if they look high.

    :)

The remote temperature goes from min45 to max 62 Thanks

Edit : IT goes up to about 69c during virus scan

if it doesnt stall in safemode most likely its just a driver thats having issues with the windows kernal....
check your event logs as well...
before you go splasing money out in it i would suggest reinstalling windows

you won't have one, usually provided by manufacturer.

could be just one of those "black" pcs (refererence is to black cat before anyone gives out!)
if you've reinstalled windows without joy then possibly try a low level format on your system drive.
basically will reset your disk back to 0's.
should also tell you if there are any errors on the drive.

After crashing again on laptop now and I was only at 50c

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,401 ✭✭✭✭Anti

Okay 50c is to low. Re-seat all components, cpu, ram, graphics, all cables. I do know the pentiums D's do put out alot fo heat, Especially the high end ones like yours. If you do remove the cpu. Clean off all the compound, with isoprop ( pure alcohol ) And buy more compound, You only need a tiny bit. Also reinstall all drivers first, Graphics. Motherboard/chipset, directX, sound card and any other perph you have installed.

If you have problems after this, please let us know.
