The way it is, I'm getting it in on monday.
I am looking for any useful suggestions for starting me online poker venture.

I have played on Party for a no deposit bonus and similarry on PPP. I hated party, and disliked the tourney structure on PPP.

I'm looking for any tips on possible the best room to join which has a relatively soft field with good tourney structure.

Also if this place has a sign up bouns and offers rakeback deals all the better.

Also, i feel disicpline is a bit of a problem for mr. so can anyone suggest how i can record my games plays etc....?

Bear in mind im a student so buying is a last resort. :D

Stars for good tourneys. Has smallish signup bonus, no RB, good player points store.
Pokertracker for $25 is a good investment. Haven't used anything else. A good old spreadsheet will probably do you just as well though. I think someone link to a spreadsheet that you can download and customise and use. Can't remember who though.

Your first week with broadband will be spent on pr0n obv.

lol, the art of one handed typing :)

Whats the playing field generally like on stars?
any thoughts on ultimate bet or fulltilt?

UB has great software, huge bonuses that clear v slowly at 50/1NL or lower, it hasn't increase in player numbers after the collapse of Party, unlike Stars or FT.
Stars has loads of punters, in general the standard might be slightly tougher than other sites but you'll always find fish.
FT has RB (see stickies for helpful links) and a decent signup bonus I think, plus you can watch the nosebleed stakes 200/400 PLO, etc.

Was just about to recommend UltimateBet & FullTilt.

Best MTT structures on the net in my opinion as they don't have that big of fields, rarely over 500 in the majority of their tournaments.

Great cash games and easy to use software.

As well as that you can 30% rakeback when you shop about on both sites as well as very wealthy sign up bonuses 100% upto $600 odd :D

large fields on stars 1000+ $3R + $5 R are soft easy to make the money, difficult to win.Take at least 4 to 5 hours to get through. The $10 sit & go 180 and $4 and $20 also fill up quick and take between 2 and 3 hours.

Full Tilt tourneys seem to have a good structure, havent been playing there long STT also a slow structure.I just love it!Rake back available on tilt also dep bonus pm me if you want details.Good luck at the tables! Also for keeping track of your results try checkyourbets.com its free and simple to use.

You don't have to have broadband to play online poker.
