Unable to get composite from sky digibox

I have been reading these threads over the last couple of weeks and finally got around to building my own HTPC. Everything went well untill I tried to hook up my digi box to the TV card. The card is a Club 3D Zap 1001 and has S-video and Composite inputs. The digi box is a Thompson not to sure of the model but it has two Scart ouputs for TV and VCR. When I use a SCART adapter to plug the composite cables from the digi box to the TV card I get no signal. I have used two other SCART adapters that have switches for input or output with no joy. The only video out options on the digi box is for PAL or RGB. I have it set to RGB. If I use the S-video connection I get a picture but it is in black and white.
I have updated all drivers and I am using MCE 2005.
Any help with this would be greatly appreicated have spent hours trying to sort this and pulling what hair I have left out.

With the s-video you can use one of these units to convert the scart RGB into colour s-video you'll get better picture quality from it at least.

But as to the original topic it should be working can't think of a reason as to why it's not. When running the TV wizard in MCE it can be a little funny sometimes detecting the input the signal is coming from, if you use the mouse and manually select composite and hit scan again sometimes it will appear.

The adaptors should be set to output also have you tried replacing the yellow composite video cable in the rare case it may be dodgy.

Thanks for the advice 8T8, I have spent a small fortune on different cables and connecters. Think I have finally found the problem, managed to get a lend of a different TV card and it had a picture from the composite straight away. Looks like my card has a bad composite connection. Looking at getting a PVR-150 as a replacment.

Had a look at the RGB to S-video converter, is the difference in quality veres composite worth forking out for.

I got one of the RGB-svideo converters for my last HTPC (Advent DHE500) which was connected to a 32" Samsung LCD as the composite picture was terrible. I now have a Vaio VGX-XL100 connected to a 37" LG lcd and just out of curiosity, checked the composite picture and it is not that much worse then the svideo signal.
