Just heard on the news that Michael Flatley is in a serious condition in hospital in London. Is anybody able to enlighten us about what is wrong with him?

Dance star Michael Flatley is reported to be seriously ill in a London hospital tonight.

The details of his condition are not known but it is believed he was admitted to a private hospital some days ago after being taken ill while rehearsing for his forthcoming Celtic Tiger European tour.

All dates for that tour, including two in Dublin for early December, have now been cancelled.

A spokeswoman tonight said the star was unavailable for comment and appealed for the media and his fans to respect his privacy.

It's not yet been confirmed, but reports suggest that in the middle of a performance, while attempting a high kick, one of his legs seperated from his body, landing on the lap of a lucky audience member.

London police are currently trying to track down a middle-aged woman, with auburn hair, wearing a flowery dress, wanted in relation to the theft of the limb.

All dates for that tour, including two in Dublin for early December, have now been cancelled.

A spokeswoman tonight said the star was unavailable for comment and appealed for the media and his fans to respect his privacy.

Celtic Tiger Touring Inc. has cancelled all European dates for Celtic Tiger starring Michael Flatley due to serious illness.

Michael Flatley remains in hospital and unavailable for comment.

RIVERDANCE star Michael Flatley is battling a serious viral illness, it was revealed last night.

The 48-year-old Americanborn dancer was rushed to a London hospital. His worried wife Niamh, whom he married only a month ago, was by his bedside.

Flatley has cancelled the entire European leg of his latest Celtic Tiger tour.

A source said: "He has an allover infection, which has been attacking every part of his body.

"He has been in hospital for a few days after complaining of feeling weak at home in London.

"His condition deteriorated and he was rushed to hospital. It looks like he won't be able to dance for another three months."

Niamh is four months pregnant with their child.

A close friend revealed last night: "This is really serious, Michael is in a bad way.

"We are talking about a guy who lives for being on stage. He would not cancel a tour unless it was something very serious."

The couple maried at a lavish ceremony in Fermoy, County Cork, on October 14.

But Flatley didn't go on honeymoon - he was rehearsing for his Celtic Tiger tour.

A family friend of Niamh said: "She has been completely knocked for six by this. Michael got very ill over the last few days and had trouble breathing."

This April, Flatley spoke out about his facial skin cancer - but insisted he had been completely cured.

Ah now I'd like to see him get better.
Ireland just wouldn't be the same wothout him. Sure he's a bit of a ponce but when he does something he does it with class. The house for example, no half measures there, then he marries your one and knocks her up straight away.
