This is the sequel to 28 Days Later.. rumor has it that this is the follow-on from the alternative ending in the original.
Britain has been emptied. There's nobody there. It's completely dead. And six months later the Americans arrive to reboot it back up again. But, of course, something goes wrong...

    IMDB
    Clips from movie

Below will be spoilers from 28 Days Later.
I don't entirely know how they can make a follow on to this. At the end of the movie, they somewhat finished it all up with all the Infected dying from hunger. It'll be interesting to see how they do it.

    What do people think?

I hope it wont be a big budget film, because that was the beauty of 28 Days Later. It's got some famous names in it though.

Well, it's highly unlikely to be as good as the first, which was awesome!!!

Not too excited about this... I mean, Robert Carlyle? What's that about?

Sequel? I thought it was a remake.

Most websites I've seen has branded it as a sequel so not sure.

Wikipedia article says it a sequel too.. here

I'm a huge fan of the first one but after it ended I had hoped that they would make "28 Days Earlier" instead, showing what happened from day 1.

It's a new, relatively high budget zombie movie, that fact alone is enough to brand it as good news in my eyes regardless of any other info about the film.

Thought 28 Days Later was good generally speaking but
kinda fell apart once they reached the blockades

    That's a much better Idea.

It wasn't a zombie movie to begin with, so I hope they wont turn it into one either.

But I have to admit, the good thing about it is even though Danny Boyle isn't directing it, he is still the executive producer, so he will still have some sort of input.

I know its a debatable subject as to whether it is a zombie film or not.. but in my view it isn't.

Thats a much more expensive idea. Requiring loads of extras, big CGI, and closing down lots of london.

I'm keeping an open mind about it....

In the normal ending they get rescued by an airplane. It the alternative ending they wère unable to revive him after the stabbing.

Howèver, looking at the clips it looks like it might not be based around the alternative ending as I had thought.

A rose by any other name :D

I was reading about this somewhere, (can't remember where) and the explanation as to how the virus was hidden wasn't really covered.
From the description it's a mutated version that doesn't die out and I think it's water borne or something. I'll have to dig out that article.

surely spoiler covers arnt needed?you wont want to know bout this film if you have not seen the first, and if you havent ,you will proplerly want spoilers

The alternative ending that was originally planned was much better... instead of all the nonsense with Doctor Who and the soldiers after they reach the blockade they instead reach the lab where the virus was developed originally... it had a pretty dark ending though. The storyboard for it is on the DVD.

Agree with monkeyfudge.. the original ending was far superior!

And for some reason, i've had one of the songs from the film in my head all day. You know when they all enter the supermarket and grab the shopping trolleys.. the upbeat jangly song playing in the background.

Must find the name of it....

EDIT: A-ha.. it's 'AM 180' by Grandaddy. Catchy little ditty!

    Good soundtrack album actually.

I have it and it has a deleted scene from the film on it with them in the taxi singing Hotel Yorba by the Whitestripes.

It's not on the DVD. It's a quicktime movie on the Soundtrack CD.

Actually it was the ending with the version that played in the US, and is added as alternative ending on later editions of the DVD

I'm talking about the Hotel Yorba scene. That's only found on the CD soundtrack.
