Should I be Worried??? - Computer Problems - Artifacts

Okay so im having a bit of a problem with my computer as in sig built last february... a few things, the harddrive has gotten very noisy when accessing data.. not any bad noises just the same old loading noise that was always present on older harddrives... it was fine at the start but now it has gotten very annoying... Is this normal? do i just need to do a format?? (:( Would involve backing up aound 200gigs of stuff, in only have the 1 drive and no external)

2nd: My computer is running shi*e in general, slow loading stuff and constant harddrive accessing... again only simple solution is a format but i might just buy a new drive instead and use this as backup.....

3rd: just playing bf2 and i am seeing the strangest artifacts ever, complete black sections like big huge black squares and landscapes and flowing bright light:rolleyes: ... Quit out and see my gpu temp is gone over 50 degrees... Does this kind of thing happen at this temp ya?? It is overclocked as you see in my sig, the memory is oc'd a good bit, over 100mhz, the gpu isnt really oc'd at all, standard is 400..... I know i could do with a new graphics card anyway especially seeing as im running a 1680x1050 monitor off it but tbh i dont see the point with dx10 just around the corner, id rather save and buy a decent card then....

Cooling wise I have a 120mm intake at front,120mm out at back and 80mm in at side, none are running at full rpm though, they have molex connectors and the front intake has some kinda inbuilt controller so they are all plugged into that....As below On my gpu i have a zalman vf-700cu.. this is also running on quiet mode but it gets pretty loud on full speed and i dont think it makes much of a cooling difference.....

So ya my main question is it normal that the harddrive is gone so loud and secondly are the artifacts in bf2 only down to the gpu overheating or is it something else???

    Thanks for any advice,
    ab

    2 questions for you:

Is hdd always noisy, I.e. when powering up before OS boots or is it just when the OS is in use?

Have you tried bring all equipment back to std settings not overclocking and see if the graphics settle down?

the hd is only noisy when being accessed (ie) orange light flashing... it a normal loading noise but it has gotten far louder than it used to be.

I figure my graphics card problem is overheating but i kind of need it overclocked to play games at any reasonable quality.... im gonna buy a new 1 but not sure when, i might try to improve airflow around the card and see if that helps,

im still wonndering about the hd though... do accessing noises generally get louder as a drive ages??
