this question might sound stupid , but i have to ask.

first of all i have wireless b/band right now and i know when i buy my new mac i will not need an apple USB modem.
But for some strange reason lets say i get cable b/band in (lets saw next year) will i need the apple USB modem?

no, triple h, if you get cable broadband from, say, NTL, they will install their own broadband modem; a 56k usb modem would be no use.. Maybe if you were getting a notebook a dialup modem might be handy but with an iMac there's no need so I wouldn't bother. Unless you want one incase the broadband goes down and you really need to use the net via dialup. It's unlikely you'd ever have the need though
