pc losing network connection

i have two wired pcs on a home network-the second one frequently loses its network connection after about a half hour of use-if i restart the computer it works fine again , for the half or so then freezes. the pc itself is working fine and i have checked the cable, is this a ram problem? any suggestions appreciated
