Paddy Power Problem

Paddy Power were to send me a cheque in the post, but yesterday I got an email from them asking to confirm my postal address and that my account was suspended temporarily until I did. I gave them the address, which they said is correct. but now they want a copy of my credit card statement with "the credit card number clearly visible."

Perhaps I am being paranoid, but does this not seem a little much? I'm sure AIB wouldn't recommend I send this to anybody?

    hi waster :)

your account would only be suspended if your credit card details were declined on an address check. this often comes to light on deposit/withdrawal and until they are verified, for the security of your account, it has to be frozen.

the statement is to verify your card details and is normal operating procedure for thousands of companies.

once the support department verifies your details, your account will be back up and running and you can play and withdraw etc to your heart's content.

any other problems, click the manager button. i know it's a pain in the plums but I can assure you that support won't ask you for any information unless it is necessary to do so.

Had the same problem used to be a situation that you paid by credit card and then your credit card was credited when you withdrew, very handy so when I went to withdraw the last time had the same problem and it took me almost two weeks including 3 phonecalls and several emails and I only wanted to withdraw €200 but then I got a cheque for everything in my account so I left and went elsewhere. My main problem was when they were accepting my payments there was no problem with the account details but when I wanted to withdraw the problems occured.

credit card address checks are done randomly and unfortunately this sometimes means on withdrawal. this is not unique to ppp.

i can also assure you it is not a ploy to prevent you from withdrawing your funds.

as for withdrawing to credit cards, Mastercard no longer allow this and Visa still do, may be the source of your problem patmac.
