Ahhh, Paul Feig.. where did it all go wrong?

Creator of 'Freaks And Geeks'.. director of numerous episodes of various excellent TV shows such as 'The Office', 'Arrested Development', 'Undeclared' and 'Weeds'.

You went down a humble road with your motion picture directorial debut, the award-winning (though virtually unknown) 'I Am David':
I Am David is adapted from Anne Holm's internationally acclaimed novel North to Freedom. It is the story of a 12-year-old boy, David, who escapes a Communist concentration camp with little more than a compass, a sealed letter, a loaf of bread, and instructions to carry the letter to Copenhagen, Denmark. David is thrust into the free world for the first time in his young life as he travels across Europe. It is a spiritual voyage of discovery, where David slowly loses his instinctual mistrust of humanity and begins to smile, share, trust and ultimately, love. I Am David addresses the cruelties, politics, and suffering of warfare while celebrating the resilience of youth and the unbreakable spirit of a child.

You could have practically done anything for your next directorial effort... and then you choose to unleash this on us.. for shame! :(

Although it does contain a great mix of comedy actors from some of the sitcoms Feig has directed episodes of:

From 'Arrested Development': Tony Hale (Buster) and Jessica Walter (Lucille)
From 'The Office': David Koechner (Todd Packer), BJ Novak (Ryan), Mindy Kaling (Kelly)

Shame the film looks unbelievably horrible!

I have faith in my man Paul and you should too. He's proved himself over and over again - he created, wrote AND directed hours of quality TV between F&G and Arrested Development. Give the man a break!

But it's probably best that we don't mention Paul's regular role on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I guess he has to pay the bills like the rest of us.

His role on Sabrina was regular though quite brief (half a series) as he keeps mentioning on the F&G DVD commentaries.

But now out of Paul and Apatow, i've much more faith in Judd now. With 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' being without doubt the funniest film of last year and 'Knocked Up' sounding like a winner too (though release is months away, advance reviews.. though, not always reliable.. have popped up praising it). But found it tough to forgive Apatow for that horrendous 'Fun With Dick And Jane' screenplay!

Oh dear. Not only has the film gotten awful reviews, it's done terrible business in the US - 6.3 million USD as of Dec 13 which is pathetic for a film that opened on over 2700 screens. It's called 'Grounded' here apparently:

So, he's only directing it and not responsible for the script or anything? Give him a break!
Although I've only seen his AD episode (which was great, and had Dan Castellaneta in it! :D )
