ideas on poker league

I was chatting to the landlord in the local a few nights ago while there was a game in the local pool league going on, was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to run a poker league between a few pubs. How many players per team, points scoring, buy ins and so on. Also does anyone know of a smilar league.
