dunno about 'much ' cheaper. Samsung and Sony use the exact same displays unless I am very wrong , the factory is a joint venture .

Prices will have dropped in a few months, christmas or not, LCDs are falling in price by the day. I never saw amazing cuts on online shops that you do in normal shops in town, probably because shops in town are screwing you so much they can afford bigger cuts.
