Omaha - help needed

A specific problem that arises for me every so often is hitting the non nut house in omaha on the flop. I never know how to play out the hand.

For example if i have JJxx and the flop comes QQJ, its hard to know where I stand. At this moment I'm probably ahead, realistically only QQ will be ahead of me although I'm aware that QJ will be also (ruling this out in this scenario). If its a full ring game (or even 6 handed which I play) how do you play out the hand from different positions ? I tend to lead out here and see where I'm at but more often than not end up losing to the higher house.

A player with a Q and no other pair will have nine outs and if there are two players with a Q, the chances are I'm big dog in the hand.

Should I be check/calling bets here ? Anyone any good tips for playing this hand ?

    i feel your pain here
personally i bet out here hoping someone doesn't hit their x with Qx

I suppose the way to look at it is you're probably in front and therefore you should defend it.

If you are called, depending on villain and T/R, maybe slow down - maybe check call Turn & River.

I find your eg worse when say the flop is 677 and you have 66 - these hands give more opportunities for overpairs to hit, which I hate

you want to get as much money in on this flop as possible
So rather than lead from early I will check raise here and i will continue to raise all in if i get action
you are guaranteed bet/calls from any Q if you get 2 queens out there even better yes if there is 18 live cards out there you are slightly behind but if you or they block each other even once you become huge fav 44%+ in a 3 way you are never going to be a big dog to anything other than the drawing dead QQ or qj

If you are late then i will bet out hoping to be raised if not then i would play the rest of the hand by feel
I would be reluctant to re-raise anybody from that point without a read on them but i will not be laying down to a single bet for the rest of the hand

careca said, only newish to omaha but that op is a great question. I always find that hand a fking killer like you know you are head, but I am not sure you can ever put the opp with the case Q off in that spot, can you really? As an aside the more I play plo, the more I realise its for the insane, surely it leads to more destroyed mice and computers than nl any day

Personally I think something like the above you can't go too far wrong getting as much in on the flop as you can. If you opponent is holding a Q and 3 undercards (with no J for example) they will be reluctant to get all their money in on that holding if they are anyways sensible. If the flop is some thing like QQ6 and you have 66xx in your hand this is a far more tricky hand to play aggressively as you opponent will likely have 10 outs twice (if you have only 1 opponent) and will be far more likely to chase.
