Ladbrokes in negotiations to purchase the job lot apparently.

As an aside Irish bookmaking likely to see further consolidation over the coming years also - UK multiples are best placed to quantify impending changes to LBO licencing.

Sporting Emporium, Betdaq, Chronicle Shops and On Course Pitches

All of the above are rumoured to be up for discussion. DD owns 50% of Chronicle and it is questionable as to wether or not his co-owner would be up for selling - but then I guess money speaks all languages.

Betdaq is struggling but improving and has been trading well now for c.6Months. Ladbrokes did register a number of betting exchange websites about 2/3 years ago and the industry rumour was that they were going to open one. This never materialised though. Should they step in to purchase Betdaq it would certainly give Betfair something to think about. Laddies could provide massive liquidity to the markets and with their huge sportsbook customer base could give this a fair rattle. As I see it Betdaq is worthless anyone other than one of the big chains, Laddies, Whill etc consequently it is nigh on impossible to value. As for the SE - well Laddies are well versed in running casinos and with the likely change in the law legalising these "private members clubs" it would only be a matter of time before they come to the market and it appears that DD has one "that he made earlier" ready for them to take the keys of. Interesting times ahead imo.

I find it highly unlike that the well known owner of the Emp is likely to sell as he is the only casino in the island of Ireland that complys with the proposed new new regulations put forward by a govermnent board on controlling these estalishments And therefore is the only casino to be granted an immediate licence if said legislations comes in Which it is likely to do. Its main points are to do with security, funding and book keeping to combat laundering. Preety obvious why this is the only casino that complies
