Printer Query

I was asked to take a look at someones printer and the problem has me baffled. For some reason whenever something is printed it prints on only a quarter of the page. In other words the whole lot is printed but it is extremely small and is confined to the top left hand corner of the page. I have tried changing margins etc. but that isn't the problem. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? It's a cheap, unreliable Epson printer, though I don't even think thats the reason

Might be the default paper size it not set to a4 or some other scaling setting, going into the printer settings via control panel might give you extra option or allow you to set the default print settings.

Have you tried print from a few different programs? do you get the same problem?

Maybe check the epson website for the latest driver and software

Epson is usually good for their software and support, so make sure you have the epson drivers from their site or driver cd and not the default one that windows uses if you install no epson software

if it was a laser printer and you run out of memory then it usually prints the top of the page and cuts off the rest, dropping resolution is one workaround. really only applies to very old lasers as most modern ones have a fair bit of memory

Check the printer driver many new ones allow you to print multiple pages on one sheet. options like advanced / finishing

I'd say it's the scaling (zooming) setting in the driver. Make sure it's set to 100% or fit to page, along with the correct paper size.

I would say maybe it could be the n-up (multiple pages per sheet) property, but it would print 4 pages per sheet (assuming it is already printing 1/4 of the sheet).
